It is a proven fact that musical training can substantially improve a child’s educational abilities. A study done in 1999 showed that children who took music lessons scored significantly higher on a test than those without. A more recent study correlated longer musical training with greater verbal memory. These tests and the highly renowned theory known as the “Mozart Effect’ focuses on the beneficial abilities of music in the classroom. Music has a powerful effect on our emotions, and on academic areas. This has been proven by many research studies. Immanuel Genius strives to give the method of the Mozart Effect to our students. In music classes, children will learn about various types of classical music, composers, and music instruments. Music lessons will include fun and educational explorations of different rhythms, beats, moods, and basic notes. In addition, children will be exposed to different types of classical background music throughout their day depending on the mood of the activity or program (nap time, meal time, class work, center time, etc…)
