Immanuel Genius offers full day and after school program year round, including our exciting Summer Program. Our classrooms are set up with learning centers, and are equipped with many computers and pianos for the children to use. Academic remediation and enrichment activities are offered in reading writing and mathematics. Students are encouraged to utilize critical thinking skills which are crucial to the learning process. We offer individualized and small group tutoring. We encourage group activities as well as open-ended child directed activities. It is a lively, happy, and visually stimulating environment for students to learn and explore.
All classes enjoy outdoor play in the fresh air on our ample playground of 4000square feet, which is well equipped with age appropriate materials. We are fortunate to have easy access to Kissena Park, a beautiful place located directly across the street from our school. Children have the wonderful opportunity to see nature at its best. Educational Nature walks, picnics, and strolls around the pond is an extraordinary place for the children to observe and explore many different elements of nature.
We believe that a close relationship between school and home is especially important for the growth and well-being of the children. We plan various field trips and special holiday celebrations throughout the school year where parents are encouraged to participate. Teachers communicate with parents on a daily basis through the student’s home-school journal. We have scheduled meetings with parents twice a year and additional meetings when necessary. We have several bi-lingual teachers on staff to help the parents as well as students.
Furthermore, we are actively involved with our community by visiting and/or inviting various community members such as fire fighters, police officers, veterans, chefs, and dentists into our classrooms. Through these involvements, our children are learning to appreciate the vast number of career opportunities that may await them.
When our students leave Immanuel Genius to attend Kindergarten, they are socially ready, independent, and fully prepared for the various challenges that will come their way. Children who have attended Immanuel Genius have had a rewarding "first school experience." This is extremely important for their educational future. A character education instills the importance of respect for themselves and others.
